This initiative aims to support and uplift fisherfolks, marking a remarkable stride forward for the local fishing communities.

The event kicked off with a ceremonial turn-over of the necessary tools and equipment, symbolizing the start of a new chapter for these communities. Following this, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed among the stakeholders, outlining their commitments to the project’s success. A hands-on training was also conducted right after.

This training not only equips them with practical skills but also reinforces the importance of sustainable practices for the future.

The heart of the project lies in the “Oyster Culture in Raft Method,” a technique designed to cultivate oysters sustainably and efficiently.

The Oyster Culture in Raft Method project represents a harmonious collaboration between the BFAR – National Fisheries Development Center, Dagupan City, BFAR-7, local government units, and dedicated fisherfolks. As these communities embrace oyster farming, they are not only adapting to a changing fishing landscape but also contributing to the revitalization of marine resources.
