In a turn-over ceremony during the BFAR National Management Committee Meeting held at Hotel Elizabeth in Cebu City on Friday, February 2, 2024, BFAR Regional Office No. VII welcomed the new Officer-in-Charge, Regional Director, Mario N. Ruinata. The formal turnover of leadership marked a significant milestone for the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-7 (BFAR-7) as it embraced a new chapter under the guidance of OIC RD Ruinata.

Outgoing Regional Director Allan Poquita, Ph.D., handed over the key of responsibility to incoming OIC Regional Director Mario Ruinata, symbolizing the transfer of leadership in a ceremony filled with pride and camaraderie.

Ruinata’s appointment as Officer-in-Charge, Regional Director of BFAR-7 was formally acknowledged in Special Order No. 1172, setting the stage for his leadership in the region.

The event was graced by esteemed guests, including DA Undersecretary for Fisheries, Drusila Esther Bayate, BFAR National Director Atty. Demosthenes Escoto, BFAR Assistant Director for Technical Services Isidro Velayo, DA-7 Regional Executive Director Angel Enriquez, and BFAR Regional Directors. Also present were BFAR-7 Division Chiefs, Provincial Fishery Officers, Technology Outreach Station Chiefs, members of the management committee, and employees, who added a touch of significance to the occasion.

As BFAR-7 embarks on a new journey under the leadership of OIC RD Ruinata, the bureau looks forward to continuous success, collaboration, and dedication in the pursuit of its vital mission in the region.
